Exciting Building Work!

Drop off and collection arrangements for the next 4–6 weeks

Well, I never thought I would get so excited about toilets! Following a request from our School Parliament, building work will start on Monday to construct an additional toilet block for the children to use at lunchtime. This is greatly needed as we have grown in size! It was hoped work would have be completed over the holidays but was delayed. Due to the Health and Safety risk assessment that has been put in place, we need to change how children enter and exit the building for the next 4 to 6 weeks.

In the morning, children in Kookaburras, Wrens, Goslings and Doves will enter through the side gate which is used for Forest School. The rest of the children will enter through the main entrance.

At the end off the day, parents that are collecting their children to walk home or go by car need to wait on the field. The children will then be brought out by the class teachers to be dismissed. The bus routine will remain the same.

This plan works on paper, but we may make some adjustments once it goes live on Monday, we will update with any changes through Class Dojo or email.

The children will still have access to the outside spaces but 'working corridors' and space for materials will mean that some areas will be tight hence the change to arrangements.

Reading Crew

To support the children with their reading we have a dedicated group of volunteers who listen to the children on a regular basis. We are looking to increase the number of people who are able to support the Reading Crew. If you have some spare time or know someone else who has and can commit to a regular time please let the school office know. If you are an existing member of the Reading Crew could you please confirm whether you are still able to help and when. Many Thanks!

Parent Governors

Just a reminder that the closing date for nominations is Friday 22nd September. If you are looking for an opportunity to support the local community, this is a diverse and fulfilling role. Full details are in last week's newsletter. Please don't hesitate to get in touch for further details.

It has been a really positive and enjoyable first full week back. It was lovely to see so many parents at yesterday's Meet the Teacher event with many positive comments about how we are all going to work together to make the children's time at Rodings as successful as possible.

Have a lovely weekend!
