Goodbyes

Today, we said goodbye to several members of staff who are heading off on new adventures.

Firstly, Mrs Curran is leaving us. We wish her all the best in her new job.

Mrs Gates is moving on to another school following looking after our Goslings on a temporary basis. Mrs Gates has thrown her heart and soul into the school and has gone above and beyond. We will really miss you and wish you luck in your new job.

Mr Clements has been our Site Manager for the last seven years. He has had an incredible impact on our school since he joined, and I know that many of you will miss him on the school gate. We wish Mr Clements all the best as he moves out of the area and into a new job.

Mr Wright! Where do I start with Mr Wright? He joined as an NQT eight years ago and has gone from strength to strength. He has been a dedicated and incredibly supportive member of the Rodings family. It will be really sad to see him go. However, we are also excited for him as he heads off onto his Assistant Headteachers post. Thank you for everything you have done for the school. Your new school are very lucky to have you.

Finally, thank you for all your support over the last year. We couldn't do it without you.

Have a safe and relaxing summer!

Mr Raraty

The Governors held their last Full Governors Board of the academic year on the 10th July.

After formalities, we opened our agenda by reflecting on the school’s recent Ofsted inspection.

Like the school leadership team, the Governing Board were delighted with the outcome of the report. We felt this was a true reflection of the school overall, and were pleased that the report reflected so much of what we’re doing at Rodings.

We discussed the approach that the school leadership team intend to take to develop the School Development Plan for 23/24 and looking forwards to the immediate mid term, which the Board were supportive of. This will include actions to ensure that the learning points from the Ofsted Inspection are addressed.

As you know Mr Wright will sadly be leaving Rodings for an Assistant Headship in Chelmsford, he has been a valued member of the Governing Board as well as a teacher. The Board thank Mr Wright and wish him every success in his new role

Peter Clements, Site Manager, is also sadly leaving Rodings over the Summer. Mr Clements has been fundamental to the improvements in the school site as well as the delivery of our premises projects. Again the Board thanks Mr Clements and wishes him the best for his future.

The Finance Committee were pleased to confirm that the outdoor toilets build proposed by School Parliament will go ahead.

We ran through our standard agenda items, including the review and ratification of the policies due in June, closing with confirming the Governing Board meeting dates for the 23/24 academic year.

Thank you to all of the staff, volunteers and families who make up the special Rodings community

Wishing you a restful summer break, and look forward to a very successful 2023/2024!

Leeann Goddard - Vice Chair of Governors
