Baby B Has Arrived!

I'm really happy to announce that Mrs B's baby girl arrived safely on the 28th September, her due date. Those of you that know Mrs B well will understand the irony in this!

Mrs B and Dorothy (to be known as Dotty) are both doing well. We can't wait to meet her for lots of cuddles. Welcome to the Rodings family, Dotty!

School Meals

Mrs Scott, our School Catering Manager, and the rest of the catering team are keen to gather your views on the school meals provided at Rodings. Mrs Scott is looking for constructive suggestions about the service they provide at Rodings. Even if you don't use the school meals service, we would like your feedback too. The link below will take you to the survey. Once we have analysed the data, we will feed back the results and any changes we are going to make. The children are going to complete their own survey as well. Please complete the questionnaire by Friday 14th October. Many Thanks!

Fire Safety Assembly

On Thursday the 6th of October, the whole school enjoyed a fire safety assembly  with Andrea who works with the police and fire services. The assembly taught us all about the dangers around halloween, bonfire night and fireworks.

A few things we learnt were:

  • Whilst out trick or treating for halloween, you should not knock on people's houses you do not know.

  • If there are no decorations on a house then do not knock on their door as they might not be celebrating halloween.

  • Don’t go inside strangers' houses.

  • Go to organised firework displays instead of setting off your own fireworks. Stay 25m away from a live firework.

  • Never touch the lit end of a sparkler, even once it’s out, as it may be hot. Have a bucket of water or sand to put it in.

  • Don't go near candles in fancy dress as many costumes are flammable.

Hopefully these tips will help us all have a safe and enjoyable halloween and bonfire night this year.

By, Alexa, Lois and Connie Stevenson

School News

Today Year 3/4 took part in a dodgeball completion at Felsted School. They worked really well as a team and had lots of fun!

We came 5th overall, myself and Mrs. Paget were really impressed with Rodings sportsmanship and how supportive they were of other teams. Well done Rodings!

Erin competed in a gymnastics floor and vault competition on Sunday 2nd October in Ipswich. There were 50 other girls competing in her category. Erin’s floor routine was incredible using music from Les Miserables.
She came 2nd in floor and 3rd overall and added another 2 medals to her growing collection. Erin absolutely loves competing ???????

Well done Erin, we are always so proud of you :-)

A local resident is looking to give away her late husband's Yamaha baby grand piano to a passionate instrument lover, so let me know if you will take it or have someone who will care for it.
