From the desk of Mr Crawley

Happy Friday to you all.

I can't believe we are only one week away from being half-way through the summer term. As always it's been a very busy week at Rodings, with the undoubted highlight being our amazing Singing Squad recording ten songs on Wednesday.

There is lots ot fill you in on this week, so please read all the sections below as it contains important information about our upcoming plans.

We are really proud of our Year 2 pupils this week, who have worked incredibly hard on their SATs. They have gone about the week with smiles on their faces, and they have been a real credit to the school.

I would like to thank Miss Raban for giving up her evening to deliver a fantastic parent information evening on our English curriculum, and to Miss George for agreeing to be observed teaching! I know a lot of time and effort went into making this an informative and useful evening, which will allow you to support at home. Our next curriculum information evening will be around our whole school Relationship and Sex Education curriculum. More information is below.

The Friends are working hard on planning the Summer Fete and a whole range of events, so please read their flyer below, to see how you can support.

Next Friday we will be having a day to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. As well as taking part in a range of fun activities, and having a street party lunch on the playground the children will be allowed to wear Non-uniform for the day. We will be having a theme of: Red, White, Blue and Purple!

Lastly, I am very pleased to say that we have managed to secure a swimming coach for next half-term. Years R, 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be able to have two swimming sessions a week. Details around which days each class will swim will be made available next week. Next half-term Year 5 will be having weekly swimming lessons at Ongar Leisure Centre.

 Have a really lovely weekend

Mr. C
