Harvest Donations

Once again we will be celebrating Harvest by collecting donations for Uttlesford Foodbank. When making contact with the charity they have us aware that they have seen an increase in demand however donations are down.

The cost of living continues to rise and we are very conscious that times are difficult for everyone but if you are able to make a donation we would really appreciate it. If donations could be with us by the end of Friday 3rd October as Uttlesford Foodbank will be collecting donations very early Monday morning.

The list of items needed is below.

Tinned fruit & vegetables
Tinned meat & fish
Cooking & pasta sauces
Cereal & oats
Tinned rice pudding & custard
Rice (inc. microwave) & noodles
Fruit squash & long life juice
Tinned potatoes, instant mash & stuffing
Tinned soups & pasta (e.g. ravioli etc.)
UHT Milk

We look forward to inviting the parents from Goslings, Robins and Sparrows to our Harvest celebration on Friday 3rd October at 2:15pm.

Children’s mental health and wellbeing is becoming increasingly important. In a world where we are bombarded with negative news and information, life can be overwhelming.

We have paired up with My Happy Mind, supported by the NHS, to provide classes for the children on how to keep their mind fit and healthy. Through assemblies, stories, journals and PSHE lessons, the children will learn about the brain, how it works and how to keep it healthy.

Once we have completed the first few lessons, we will release details of a Parents app so that you can support the children at home with the strategies that they have learnt in school.
A separate letter will be published shortly with further details on how to access the app and how to support your child at home to develop a healthy attitude to their brain and how it functions.

Have a lovely weekend!

Mr Raraty

Friends AGM 30th September 7pm

The Friends AGM will be held at 7pm on the 30th September in the school hall (please see the poster below for details). It is really important as many of you as possible attend as we need to have a minimum number of people attending in order to make our quorate as a charity, if we are unable to make this, we are unable to carry on putting on events.

There will be no obligation to participate in anything, we just need a head count!

After the meeting there will be cheese and wine available and you will have the opportunity to speak to the Friends in a more informal setting.

Bingo Night – Friday 10th October

On Friday the 10th October we will be holding our very popular family Bingo night! This is a really fun event for the whole family and a great opportunity for new Rodings families to meet each other. More information will follow next week and tickets will be available on Arbor (School Shop).

Firework Night - Thursday 6th November

Save the date! Our fireworks night will be held on Thursday 6th November. More information and tickets will be available soon. In the mean time, we are looking for companies to sponsor this event so we can raise more funds for the school.

We are offering 2 levels of suggested donations:

1. £100 - includes advertising on our social media pages leading up to and after the event, plus your business logo on our flyer that will be circulated in the weekly school newsletter and our digital message system (Dojo) to all parents.

2. £250 – includes all of the above plus your business logo or name on the tickets and your business banner displayed at the entrance of the school on the night. You will also get a complimentary family ticket for the fireworks and a personal thank you from the headteacher, Mr Raraty, when he does his announcements on the night.

If you wish to sponsor us please get in touch. We would be happy to provide you with more information if you have any questions. And to enable us to add you onto our advertising, we kindly request a response by Monday 13th October, along with a digital copy of your business logo to friendsofrodings@gmail.com.

Easy Fundraising

If you do any online shopping please consider Easy Fundraising to support the Friends of Rodings Primary School.
