Welcome back!
We have had a great start to the new term! It was so lovely to see the children back on Wednesday. The school building always feels so empty and soulless without them. This week we have been busy setting expectations for the year and getting the children into their new routines. All the classes seem really settled, which is great. The rest of today's newsletter has a few reminders with a full newsletter ready for next week.
Three new members of staff have joined us this September. We welcome Miss Curtis as the Hummingbirds class teacher. Mrs O'Keefe and Miss Whitbread have joined our support staff team. More about that next week.
We also said goodbye to Mr Partridge who left during the summer holiday. We thank him for all his hard work over the last few years and wish him well for the future.
Non-uniform Day for DeVeres
Friday 12th September will be a non-uniform day for DeVeres (yellow house) as they won the House Cup for the summer term.
School Meal Costs
As you will all be aware, food prices and energy costs have increased significantly over the last few years. During that time, we were able to maintain our school meal costs at £2.30. However, following a review with the Governing Board we have had to make the decision to raise our meal price by 10p. From after half-term, meals will rise to £2.40 a day. This is the first rise since the pandemic, so we hope you understand this difficult decision.
Meet the Teacher
Meet the Teacher will be held on Thursday 11th September at 3:30pm. This is an opportunity to put a name to a face and receive a brief overview of the curriculum and expectations for the year.
More dates will follow shortly.
Have a lovely weekend!
