R-Fest Exhibition

As many of you are aware, this term is our Create season where we engage and celebrate all things arty. This year we have expanded our enrichment further by building more partnerships with different arts groups to provide a really exciting and creative experience. Year 3 are currently working with Hip Hop Pop whilst other year groups are working with artists, craftspeople and musicians. I will publish a special Create newsletter detailing all the wonderful learning later in the term.

As part of R-Fest we are going to be holding our usual art exhibition but this year we are expanding it across two days so that more people can come to see it. The R-Fest exhibition will be held on Thursday 26th June, 3:15pm - 5:15pm and then Friday 27th June, 9am - 10:15am, reopening at 3:15pm - 4:30pm.

The exhibition will contain the usual displays of artwork but also live performances and video showcases of their work. More details to follow.

We look forward to seeing you at the exhibition to celebrate all the children's work.

Snacks

After considering all the comments I have received about the changes to the snack rules, for and against, I have decided to make some very minor changes.

Although I can appreciate and understand all the suggestions and arguments I have received, the snack policy has to be manageable as a school and fit within the School Food standards and Healthy Schools guidelines.

Therefore, the following items are allowed at snack time:

Fresh fruit and vegetables, rice cakes, breadsticks and plain digestive/rich tea biscuit.

Other food groups can be provided through the breakfast and lunch provision.

Thank you for your understanding.

Summer Fete

Thank you to all the volunteers that have worked so hard on tomorrow's Summer Fete. It looks like it's going to be a good day even if it is a little bit windy. I hope that lots of you will be able to come along to support the school and the Friends of Rodings raise vital funds for the school so that we can continue to provide the extras for the children. The next big project is new large-scale playground equipment.

But I have one huge ask! Please use the village hall car park if you are coming by car. It will be a nice day and the short walk will mean that your step count will be even better. Thank you!

Have a lovely weekend!

Mr Raraty

This week I was blessed to be able to join the Toucans, Mr J, Mrs K and Miss Allen on the residential trip to Tollesbury.

Everything everyone ever told me about the trip was so true and just so memorable.

The staff at the Fellowship Afloat were wonderful, and we were all made to feel very welcome and at home as soon as we arrived.  The children were given the most fantastic experience; an experience for them to remember forever as they come to the end of their primary life at Rodings.

Personally, I saw the care and attention that Mr J, Mrs K and Miss Allen show to each and every one of the Toucans.  They are simply a brilliant team and we are so very grateful to have such devoted staff to give the children this opportunity.

The children were an amazing group and everyone tried something new every day.  I am so proud to have been a part of it.  They all tried a new food, pushed themselves to do something they may not have thought they could do and showed love and support to their fellow classmates.

Thank you Toucans, Mr J, Mrs K & Miss Allen.  You all really go above and beyond.  And I know this is true of all the staff who accompany them every year and everyone at Rodings who put so much into making all the children enjoy their time with us.

The Little Recyclers Thursday 12th June

Thank you to everyone that donated clothes and shoes to our Little Recylers collection. Everything we collect goes toward earning funds for the school.

It’s Tomorrow! Rodings Summer Fete, Saturday 14 June 12 - 4pm.

We have attached the map, so you can take a sneaky peek at all the fun we have lined up for tomorrow!

⚽We have bouncy castles and games including ‘net a duck’ and football target or grab your friends or parents and head over to the all weather pitch for a game of water wars! 🔫

🌻There will be stalls selling lots of goodies from plants, to toys, minifigures and gifts. You can win on the tombola or lucky dip and make sure you’ve got some raffle tickets - we have some great prizes to keep you amused over the summer holidays. 💰

🎭You can make a mask or bracelet on our craft stall or you can go smash something on our crockery smash! And NEW this year we have a Karaoke tent! 🎤

👀And check out the arena - come and watch the kids show off their singing and dancing talents. 🕺

🌭Grab yourself something from the BBQ, get some sweets or an ice cream or relax with some Tea and Scones and of course the Bar will be open! 🍺

🅿️The village hall have yet again kindly allowed us use of their car park - if it hasn’t been too wet, they will also open the gate onto the field so there will be lots of parking available. PLEASE make use of this, it's a short, safe and easy 5 min walk through the back of the car park. If you park elsewhere, please think of our neighbours and park considerately. 🚙

☀️There is something for everyone, so bring the whole family! Thank you all for your support, we look forward to seeing you and all have fun!

Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help, it makes such a big difference and means we are able to put on everything we have planned!

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow, hopefully the sun will be shining and we can all enjoy a wonderful day.
