Effort Cup Assembly

Thursday saw us celebrate all the children's wonderful acheivements over the last half term. We had some wonderful nominees who truly deserved to be celebrated for all the hard work they have put in. This term, there was a common thread of children who consistently try hard without making a fuss; quietly getting on with their work and acheiveing their best. It was wonderful to see the faces of the children as their names were called out,  many surprised, demonstarting how humble many of the children are.

Congratulations to our two overal winners:

EYFS and Key Stage 1 winner: Luca

Key Stage 2 winner: Oscar

Learning Conferences Spring Term

Yesterday, you should have received your child's Learning Confernece review. These reports are a mid-year snap shot of the children's attainment at this point in time. They are written in conjunction with the children.

Compared to previous reports, we have decided to amalgamate the 'below' and  'just below' into one banding to simplify the report.

There will be an opportunity to discuss the report at parent consultations towards the end of March.

I hope that you find the report useful!

Have a Lovely half term!

On Monday , Year 3 travelled back to the Stone Age for the morning!

We started with an animal tracking walk, and found and identified so many different tracks !

We then spent the rest of the morning at Hedge School , trying a variety of different activities.

We had a go at lighting fires with flint and steels, whittled sticks to make spears, cooked our 'authentic stone age marshmallows' on the fire, ground wheat with a stone to make flour, and created stone age jewellery with charcoal and wood rounds.

We all had such a lovely time, and were so impressed with how enthusiastic and resilient the children were with trying all the activities. Well done, Year 3!

This week at Forest School...????

The Goslings were excited that it was Valentines day, so we started the morning by sharing with each other the things we love in our lives. We talked about the 3 kinds of love in Forest School- love for ourselves, for each other and for nature.

We then made a ginormous nature mandala on the field, in the shape of a heart. We worked together to fill it with leaves, moss and flowers.

The Goslings also made heart decorations ,winding wool around a heart shape and then weaving flowers and leaves in.

Well done, Goslings, have a fab half term !

Seamus travelled to Killarney to take part in the prestigious All Ireland Irish dance championships. With the World Championships just 5 weeks away, many of the top competition were there.

Seamus recalled for all the dances on the day and placed 3rd out of 20 competitors. It was a long day and Seamus showed focus and determination with each dance he prepared for!

We are so proud of him!

Wishing him the very best of luck in Glasgow in March!

We are so proud of you Seamus, well done :-)
