Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Today's newsletter will be the last one for 2023. Where has that time gone?

The last couple of weeks have been filled with lots of Christmas joy with the very special performances of our Nativity finishing off the week.

Thank you to all the staff for their hard work putting the production together. It was truly magical! The Goslings did a great job in their first Rodings production. Well done to our Wrens, Swifts and Woodpeckers for their fabulous singing and dancing. It really got everyone in the Christmas spirit!

Playground Improvements

In exciting news, we are having part of our playground resurfaced so that we can use it all year round. This will provide an extension to our existing playground space, which we need desperately as the school has grown. This work was due to happen in January, but the work has been brought forward to next week. This will mean that we may have to change collection arrangements for the last three days. This may be similar to when we had the toilets built. I will let you know about any changes as soon as possible.

If I don't see you before the end of term, have a great Christmas and a happy New Year.

December Governors Report

The school governors met for their last meeting of 2023 this week and were delighted to meet and welcome our two new governors, Tory Foster and Aimee Wareham.

Mr Raraty gave us his head teachers report which included lots of staff updates. We heard the news that Mr Reeder has come to the end of his time with us this week, he has fitted into the Rodings family well and will be missed! We are looking forward to welcoming back Miss Raban and Mrs Oakley in January. And finally, Mr Raraty said how well Mr Partridge has settled in and is proving to be an invaluable asset to the school.

The outside toilets are very nearly complete and will be in use soon, which is great news. There was also some exciting news about the outside space near to the swimming pool in the playground – a new surface is going to be laid in the early part of next year!

We discussed and agreed several policies and were pleased to hear that all staff were once again current and up to date with their safeguarding training.
Discussions then turned to all of the exciting festive events that are planned for this week and next! I hope everyone has a great time enjoying Christmas dinners, carols and nativities!

All in all a very positive meeting for our last of 2023.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Lauren Dearsley
