Nominations for the Heywood Cup

As we approach the end of the school year, we turn our thought to the trophies that will be handed out at the Leavers' Assembly. The Heywood Cup is the only trophy we award that is based on nominations from parents. The Heywood Cup was donated by the Heywood family when their children left Rodings. They loved their sport! The cup is awarded for dedication or achievement in sport outside of school. Nominations are open to all children and year groups.

If you would like to nominate your child, provide me with the following information by email or letter:

  • Name
  • Year group
  • Sport
  • Why they deserve to win the award
  • You may want to include one ot two photos

The deadline for nominations is Friday 7th July. The nomination will then be sent to the Heywood family to make the final decision.

Can I also put a call-out for the return of our other trophies so that we have them in time for the Leavers Assembly. Thank you!

The Friends of Rodings' Summer Fair

Thank you to everyone who came and supported the Summer Fair. It was a lovely day with an amazing atmosphere. I would like to thank the Friends committee and all the volunteers who helped out to make it a success. To give up your free time to support the school is greatly appreciated!

We will be able to announce the final total soon. However, I am delighted to say that we have reached the amount required to update the audio/visual equipment in the school hall, so that we will be able to put on even better productions. Thank you so much for all your support!

Effort Cup Winners

Apologies for the delay in getting this information out to you. At the beginning of this term we celebrated those children that had gone above and beyond in their learning. We had a wonderful group of nominees and the smiles on their faces were priceless. Well done to all those celebrated and congratulations to our overall winners; Louis and Henry.

Have a lovely weekend!

Verity has loved the opportunity to take part in gardening club in the last year. This along with growing beans in class inspired her to start her own growing at home. She planted these lettuce from seed in April and she is proud of her super yummy lettuce.

Well done Verity - this is so wonderful :-)

Max has made himself busy at home lately by building his doggy sister an outdoor bed for the summer time out of pallets. We are so proud of how well he has done and with very little help.

Well done Max - that is amazing - do you do commissions? :-)
