From the Desk of Mr Raraty

This week's newsletter is packed, so I am going to keep it brief.

What a wonderful sports day we have had today! The weather was perfect, the children were supportive and encouraging and there was a wonderful buzz on the school field. It was lovely to see so many families join us to finish the half term with a good bit of competitive fun. Thank you to Mr Crawley and the rest of the staff for making it a brilliant event that ran smoothly and was a lot of fun.

Once again, thank you for all your support and encouragement over the last half term, particularly during and since our special visitor last week. I am continually blown away by the support we receive so thank you very much. It makes our jobs just that little bit easier!

Let's hope the weather continues in this glorious fashion and you are able to have a relaxing and enjoyable half term. We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 6th June.

Have a great week!
Mr Raraty

 Circus Science Workshops!

This week, the children were very excited to have a visit from Jebb from the Shooting Stars Circus to enhance our knowledge and understanding in Science. Across two days, he performed a fast-paced Circus Science Show which brought forces and motion alive with practical examples and fun experiments. Following this, each class then had a workshop during which they tried out various circus skills which demonstrated the forces in action. It was a very fun way to improve our Science knowledge and skills.

?? Rodings Summer Fete 2023 ??

We can’t wait to see you all at the fete on Saturday 17th June for what is always a brilliant Rodings event! We will have the BBQ lit, the bar well stocked, the tea tent heaving with tempting treats, stalls to peruse, games to play, crockery to smash, tractors and police cars to admire, as well as bouncy castles, sweets, ice creams and the pool will be open for structured swimming sessions! As always we will have the traditional tug of war battles, soaking the staff in the stocks and raffle draw, but we also have a few new tricks up our sleeves too!

We are so grateful for the prizes we’ve been able to secure for our activities and fun days out raffle this year and would like to say a massive thank you to all of our raffle prize donors! We have sent two books of raffle tickets home with each child but please be reassured that there is no obligation to buy or sell any tickets. If you would like to buy some please do and if you’d like to encourage friends, family members, neighbours, customers, etc to buy tickets then even better! All counterfoils, money and any unsold tickets need to be returned to school by Friday 16th June. If you need any more tickets please email friendsofrodings@gmail.com and we will send more your way!

The summer fete is a fantastic opportunity to come together and have fun but, most importantly, our main aim is to raise as much money as possible for our brilliant school. We do need your help though!

?? If you have any unwanted crockery please send it in to school for our crockery smash stall ??

?? If you have any clean, pre-loved uniform which is in a good condition please send it in to school for our pre-loved uniform sale ??

?? If you can spare any time at all, even just an hour, to help on the day either with the set up, during the event itself or clearing up afterwards please message Jenny on 07709376328 to be added to the Friends Helpers WhatsApp group ??

?? If you have a gazebo or marquee we could borrow for the event please email friendsofrodings@gmail.com ??

?? If you would like a stall please email friendsofrodings@gmail.com ??

?? And finally…….we are running a FRONT COVER COMPETITION for the official programme! If your child would like to enter, please submit any designs to school by the 9th June. Designs can be in colour and could we ask for them to be in portrait please. We can’t wait to see what the children come up with! ??
