From the desk of Mr Raraty

It's been another busy week at school with lots of exciting and enriching activities going on.

Firstly, well done to our Year 6 children who took part in their Bikeability training. All the children showed great perseverance and resilience as they took their first peddles on the main road. The instructors praised the children for their great attitude to learning new skills.

Thank you to all those that were able to make the Parent Drop-in session on Thursday. It is always lovely to hear the buzz around school as the children take delight in showing off their work to parents. I hope it gave you a good indication to the progress your child has made since being back in September. There will be more Drop-in sessions later on in the year, if you were unable to make this one.

We continue to show lots of prospective parents around for places in reception for September 2023. The application window is now open and submissions can be completed online at https://www.essex.gov.uk/apply-for-a-primary-school-place. Closing date for applications is 15th January 2023.

Looking ahead, Christmas will well and truly arrive next week at Rodings. It starts with our Enterprise week, where each year group will be producing their items to sell at the Christmas Fayre. Christmas jumper day is on the Friday 2nd December in exchange for a donation of anything in a bottle or mince pies. Please see last week's newsletter for details.

Finally, great preparations have taken place to put on a fantastic Christmas Fayre on Friday 2nd. There will be more activities for the children to do and, new for this year, we will be selling Christmas trees. More information about the event is below.

Please remember that Monday 5th December is an INSET day.

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing many of you next week.

Mr Raraty

Millie passed her next stage for swimming, and she’s only 5! She’s following her brothers footsteps quickly.

We are so proud of her. Well Done Millie.

Well done Millie, we are proud of you as well :-)

Emily and Lydia took part in the Children in Need Tapathon fundraiser last weekend. It was part of a world record attempt for the most people tapping the same routine at the same time. We’re still waiting to hear if it has been broken!

Well done girls, we cannot wait to hear if you have broken the record :-)
