School Travel Plan

Over the last few months, I have been working with Essex County Council on a travel plan to help reduce the congestion outside the school. There are many parts to our plan that include promoting better air quality through less 'car idling', clearer signage and events such as Bikeability for our Year 6 children.

You may have noticed a cycle shelter has appeared outside the front of the school. We have owned this for a while but it was situated in the back playground. We have moved it to the front of the school to encourage cycling to school where it is safe to do so.  The shelter can be used by children or adults. Bikes and scooters are left at your own risk, and we ask that children are wearing a cycle helmet if they are riding to school. We only want children to cycle to school if it is safe to do so.

We also want to encourage the idea of car sharing to reduce the number of cars parked outside of school. Please use your class WhatsApp groups to make arrangements with each other.

Have a lovely weekend!
