Rodings Christmas Fayre
Last Friday evening, our school community came together for a truly magical Christmas Fayre — and what a success it was! The school was filled with festive cheer, twinkling lights and the joyful sounds of laughter and conversation. From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for the start of the festive season.
To everyone who came to the Christmas fayre, it was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves and spending some hard-earned money – we really appreciate it. We hope you got to see (even in the dark) the lovely new adventure play area that we recently help fund - this is the result of you all supporting our events, so is a great example of what we can all achieve together.
We owe a big thank you to everyone involved in making the Christmas Fayre another great success. Special thanks to all our volunteers, from those that came early in the day to help us set up, to those helping during the event and everyone who stayed behind to help us clear up.
We want to thank all our committee members - a lot of organising goes on behind the scenes on these big events to try and make everything run smoothly and they all go above and beyond. We are lucky to have a team with boundless energy, and we always say it takes the whole team, which it does, but would like special mention to our member with great enthusiasm for creating fun games and the one with incredible visionary talent for creating a wonderful Grotto and the one that always ends up in the kitchen – you know who you are!
We are also very lucky to have the amazing support of all the school staff, who don’t bat an eyelid about us invading a classroom to turn it into a Christmas market, or putting up a marquee on the back of a class for catapulting snowmen!
And special thanks to Mrs Paget, Mrs Zapata and Ms French, who get various requests for printing, photocopying, collecting items, handing things out, storing items… the list goes on!
Our new site Manager, Mr Timms who has been thrown in at the deep end but carried out all our numerous requests with a smile on his face.
And finally, Mr Raraty and Mr Jinkerson (extra thanks for the hoovering!) your time, help and guidance means we never feel like an event is impossible.
We had lots of local support for our Christmas Fayre, so thanks again to all the sponsors of the raffle:

- Wreaths at the Rodings
- Lion & Lamb
- GS Car Care Ltd
- Head to Soul Therapies

And ‘behind the scenes’ support that needs mentioning with thanks to Great Garnetts, The Iced Cake Company (that Grinch cake was marvellous!) and Knights Farming Ltd for their wonderful help with the Christmas trees and continued support.
To our marvellous Father Christmas – thanks for coming to visit the children at Rodings and reading such a lovely story.
Congratulations to all the raffle winners and our guessing games winners (some lucky child is trying to squeeze that enormous bear into their room!).
Lastly, the winning design for our new scarf competition is currently being knitted, hopefully, in time for Christmas, we will keep you posted.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised almost over £3.8k — a fantastic result that will go a long way in supporting our future plans of extending the school play area.
Save the date – Film Club – 7th and 8th January
