From the Governing Board

The Teaching and Learning Committee has met for the first time since the new school year began. We started off by confirming the Chair, Leanne Goddard and Vice Chair, Lauren Dearsley. We agreed the minutes from our last meeting and moved on to the body of the meeting. This was a discussion around the use of AI in school, what that looked like for staff and pupils and the safeguarding needed around the use of it. The input by the 2Johns was mentioned, and particularly the part delivered to staff as it had an element of AI in it

We then received our Headteacher's report and Mr Raraty informed us of how the recent attendance review went. The team that visited the school were really impressed with the school and our ethos. It is always a real positive to hear that visitors see our school in its best light. Our attendance is at around 96%, and the team were impressed with the provisions that we have for getting children into school and the external support we use.

We then moved on to Safeguarding and SEND. Both areas were again positive and a special mention to Misss Yiu and SEND team for the amazing work they are doing.

Mr Raraty then told us how well Mr Tims has settled in since taking up his new post as Site Manager last week.

The governing board would like to say a massive thank you for the years of dedication Mrs Partridge gave the school, and she will be greatly missed as she moves on to new endeavours. We would also like to thank Emma Riches for her time spent preparing and cooking meals for our children as she too moves on.

Homework was the next topic for discussion. This is going to be reviewed as to how it is delivered going forwards – so keep your eyes open for more information!

Mr Jinkerson has been reviewing the curriculum map and updating it.

We are looking forward to opening the school to new prospective parents on Thursday 13th November at 9:30am - 11:30am. If you have been unable to make this, there are other tours available on 24th November at 9:30am and then again on Tuesday 9th December at 1:30pm.

We are next due to meet in December for our last Full Governing Board meeting of the year.

Take Care,

Lauren Dearsley
