Welcome and Goodbye!

We have started this half-term with some new faces to the Rodings team.

Firstly, our new Site Manager, Mr Timms, started on Monday. You may have seen him already at drop-off and pick-up times or at last night's fireworks display. He has already completed lots of jobs on the list and is making himself at home. We believe that Mr Timms will be a great addition to our team.

Mrs Eccleshall also joined us this week, becoming part of the Goslings team, supporting the children in their early learning but also with additional support for those that need it. Again, I'm sure that Mrs Eccleshall will be a great addition to the team.

Sadly, we also said goodbye! Mrs Partridge has been supporting children at Rodings for over 18 years. She has been there for so many pupils, with her caring and nurturing personality, her great knowledge of phonics and her super teaching skills. We will miss her very much and wish her all the best as she puts her feet up for a while. We gave her a surprise send off with a lovely lunch. Thank you, Mrs Partridge!

Community Working Groups

I would like to put a community working group together to complete some projects within the school. We have some exciting developments happening over the next few months, with new playground equipment being installed next week and a new Year 1 outdoor area being built in December, which has been funded by the school and the Friends of Rodings.

However, we have some other smaller project that we would like to fulfil that need some volunteers to support us with. For example, I would like to give the courtyard a revamp with new planting, refreshed tables and a thorough sort and clean.

I'm envisaging selecting a date where we can get a team together either during the week or at the weekend to get the tasks done. We will offer plenty of tea and coffee, bacon rolls and great community spirit.

Alternatively, if you know of any companies that offer community working parties, please let me know. We are really proud of our school grounds but want to make them even better.

If you can help in any way please get in contact at: mr.raraty@rodingsprimary.co.uk

Fireworks

Finally, thank you so much for all your support at the Friends of Rodings Fireworks Night. We had amazing weather, a great turn out and, once again, an amazing display.

A huge thank you to the Friends for organising such a great event. The fundraising means so much to us and next week you will begin to see where all of that money is going.

Have a great weekend!

                                                               Mr Raraty
