Reading Crew

Reading is the key to everything! We are lucky to have a fantastic group of 'Reading Crew' helpers who come in weekly to support reading at Rodings. They work across all classes to hear the children read and play a big part in developing the children's skills and enjoyment of reading. We would love to expand our team this year. If you would like to get involved, could you contact the office and we will put our timetable together over the next couple of weeks.

Kiss and Drop/Parking

Just a reminder about how Kiss and Drop works. The idea is that the flow of traffic is consistent and it is not a parking scheme. Please find a space, let the children get out of the car and the members of staff will guide them into school. If your child is needing more support to get into school, please find a parking space at the front of the school and walk them in.

Over the last week, we have had cars parking in the middle aisle and this has caused a tailback onto the main road.

As you may have noticed, we have a new transport company providing the home to school transport. We need to leave some space to allow the coach into the car park. Please don’t park in front of the signage that will be out in the mornings. Once the coach has gone, we will free up more space.

If you are parking in the layby at the front of the school, please park in a way that allows as many cars to squeeze in as possible.

I’m going to put out my usual plea to use school transport if you qualify for it. If not, please look at car sharing or if you are in Leaden Roding, walking to school. Thank you!

Dates

Dates for the Autumn term are now live on the school website and are shown below. I have also attached a copy with this email. We try not to change any dates once they are published but sometimes circumstances are outside of our control. If we do make any changes we will let you know. Some events are still being finalised so keep an eye out on the website for any updates.

Have a lovely weekend!
