Parent Governor Election

Today, you will receive ballot papers to vote for the next parent governor to join the Governing Board. Voting papers will be in your child’s bag. There is one vote per parent.

Please follow the instructions on the ballot paper carefully. Votes MUST be contained within the two envelopes provided. Once you have cast your vote, envelopes should be returned to the class teacher or the office.

Votes must be returned by Friday 21st March by 3pm.

We have been very fortunate to have five very strong candidates so please take the time to read their biographies and place a vote.

Medical Tracker

We have introduced a new system in school for recording and keeping track of medical and first aid issues.

It will send you a notification for any first aid that has been given, furthermore, it will also track any long term medication children are on. It will also remind us when epipen and asthma pumps are coming to their expiry date.

We hope the new system will make medical communication more efficient and effective.

Have a lovely weekend.

We have had a fantastic book week at Rodings with so many exciting activities! Mr Raraty launched the golden ticket treasure hunt on Monday and we've been keeping our eyes peeled for them all week! We've had book swaps, reading cafes, reading picnics, secret readers, book scavenger hunts, buddy reading (older classes reading to the younger children), our book in a jar competition as well as some fantastic costumes on Thursday! We rounded off the week with our bedtime stories and hot chocolate. It's been so lovely to see such a buzz around reading this week at Rodings!

Year 6 Girl's Netball

On Monday 3rd March, 7 girls from Toucans travelled to Felsted to take part in the USSP year 5/6 netball competition. We were fortunate to have wonderful sunshine to play our 5 games in against some very well-practised schools. The girls played well and enjoyed the competition!

Year 3/4 Girl's Football

On Wednesday 5th March, as part of the "Biggest Ever Football Session" initiative run by England Football, the Uttlesford School Sports Partnership put on a tournament for year 3/4 girls; a squad of 8 girls from Woodpeckers, Doves and Hummingbirds travelled over to Joyce Frankland Academy in Newport to play. Our girls played amazingly, especially seeing as they had not trained together at all. They came 2nd in their group, only losing one game and ended up finishing the entire tournament in 4th out of 13 schools! Well done!

Penny Wars Sitrep!

We’re half-way through! The children are still loving the sabotage, with lots of activity this week. Sparrows and Wrens are looking full and will be emptied soon, as with Toucans, their coins will be put safely aside and a sticker applied so children know which jars have been emptied. All coins already collected will still count.

Quiz Night
