Senior Leadership Team
With the appointment of Mr Jinkerson as our new deputy head, I have taken the opportunity to restructure Rodings' Senior Leadership Team, also known as SLT. SLT are responsible for monitoring standards across the school as well as supporting me in my role. Previously, members of SLT were known as Lead Teachers. However, from now on, we will have Phase Leaders who are responsible for different stages of the children's education. I am delighted to announce that Miss Beard will be joining the team from this month. The new SLT now looks like this:

Mr Raraty - Headteacher
Mr Jinkerson - Deputy Head
Mrs Brown - SENDCo
Mrs Paget - School Business Manager
Miss Beard - EYFS/KS1 Phase Leader
Mrs Oakley - KS2 Phase Leader
Miss Raban - KS2 Phase Leader

Consideration for Local Residents

I have received several complaints recently from local residents that I would like to make you aware of.

Firstly, the reoccurring problem of parking has been raised again. The main concern this time is that elderly residents have had to walk in the road as cars have blocked paths when parking at various times of the day. I know that parking is a real problem. Where possible and if there are spaces, do use the upper car park if you are visiting the school. If not, please park responsibly, taking into  account our local residents.

The other complaint has been about the amount of litter being left outside school, particularly in the ditches. There is an assumption that children and parents are leaving this behind. Please take your rubbish home with you so that we can prove this assumption wrong. Thank you!

Have a lovely weekend!
Mr Raraty

Weekly Attendance

We need your help please :-)

The first part of our new lunchtime play initiative has gone really well and the children are really engaging with the activities.

There has been some natural wear and tear, and we would love to be able to replenish our stock!

If you've done a post-Christmas clear out and have anything to donate, we would be very grateful to accept.

We would love any pre-loved scooters and helmets; any small world play (people, dinosaurs, animals) or toy cars; and if you have anything we could use for dress up (hats, bags, capes, jewellery etc NOT outfits) the children and lunchtime staff would be very grateful to accept them.

Thank you very much!

Mrs Kilpatrick and Mrs Parker

This week at Forest School ...

We've had a busy couple of weeks ! Last Tuesday the Goslings brought their grown ups to visit the forest, they had a lovely time showing them around, making mud stencils and eating s'mores  !

This week we had a bird themed day, ahead of the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend. We made bird feeders and nests for the toy birds , and year 2 did some proper birdwatching  at hedge school in their home made bird hide!

If you'd like to take part this weekend, go to www.rspb.org.uk/birdwatch, don't forget to let me know what you spotted !

Mrs George.
