Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you had an enjoyable break with lots of time with family and friends. I also hope that you were able to avoid the various viruses and illnesses that have been going around. The new year is always an exciting time, looking forward to what the year ahead has in store. Rodings is no exception, and we have lots of lovely things planned for the coming year.

Although Mr Jinkerson is no stranger to us, I would like to officially welcome him in his new role as Deputy Head. He will continue to teach Toucans class part-time alongside Mrs Coates-Reynolds. As well as deputising when I am not on site, Mr Jinkerson's main responsibility will be for curriculum development. He has a wealth of knowledge that will improve the curriculum at Rodings even further. I look forward to you getting to know him more in his new post.

Fidget and Chews Toys

This week we have seen an increase in fidget and chew toys coming in from home, clearly a popular gift over Christmas. Fidget and chew toys have a really purposeful use when supporting children to concentrate and to feel comfortable in school. However, as a school, we do need to manage their use. For this reason, we ask that children don't bring their own toys in from home unless this has been agreed with the school. Otherwise, we will provide these support aids from the school's resources for those that need them. Thanks for your understanding.

And Finally...

I want to say a huge thank you for your understanding today with the sudden closure of school due to our boilers breaking down. Closing school was the last thing I wanted to do, but with no hot water and the freezing temperatures, I was left with little choice.  I know this will have impacted your work and leisure plans, so I appreciate your understanding.

Engineers are busy trying to rectify the problem as I type. I will keep you updated about any changes in the situation. We will do everything in our power to be open for Monday.

Once again, thanks for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Have a lovely weekend and keep warm!

Make sure you book on the Arbor Shop for each child by Monday morning.

It is one of our favourite events of the year and the children love it.
