Parent Survey - Academic Year 2024-2025

Each year we hold a parent survey to gather views about the school. We would like to know what is working well and what, in your opinion, we can improve on. We listen to the feedback carefully and, where appropriate, implement changes. For example, the new approach to how we report to parents stemmed from last year's feedback.

The link to the survey is below here: https://forms.gle/b7CF5xnQF7BCzm4w5

The deadline for completion is Friday 13th December. Thank you!

Have a lovely weekend!

This week at Forest School ...

It was a chilly one on Tuesday!!

So we put the parachute up, lit a nice big fire and cooked campfire bread to keep us warm and cosy!

Here is the recipe in case you want to try this at home it's super easy! :

1 mug self raising flour

A pinch of salt

1 tbsp olive oil

Water to mix to a dough

Add ingredients to a ziploc bag, pass it round so everyone can have a go at mixing it ( very therapeutic!), roll out like a pizza base onto a floured board, add a bit of olive oil to a frying pan and cook over the fire, turning when golden brown. Eat while still warm for a delicious campfire snack !

News from the Friends

29th November – Christmas Fayre

Christmas Jumper Day

Next Friday we are asking all Rodings students to wear their Christmas jumpers for a £1 donation. This donation will go towards resources for the Christmas Fayre. Please see the poster below for more information.

Wristbands

We are using a wristband system again this year. Wristbands are now available to purchase on Arbor. We will have two band options:

  • Games, face paint and crafts
  • Games face paint, crafts and a visit to Father Christmas

Beat the queues and pre-order your child’s wristband. Any wristbands bought on Arbor will be sent home with your child next week. Please see the poster below for more information on this.

Christmas Trees

Once again we are very pleased to be able to sell Christmas trees at the Christmas Fayre. Trees are available to purchase on Arbor now to choose at the fayre. The pre-order price is £5 cheaper than the on-the-night price so get in early to secure a bargain!

Christmas Fayre 5-7PM

All our favourites will return – festive food and drink, The Market Place, Enterprise stalls, Santa’s Grotto, The Games Room, Christmas trees and many opportunities to win excellent prizes in our raffle, tombola & Wager a Guess stalls.

In order to put all this on we do require a lot of volunteers. We sent messages to the class WhatsApp groups this week but do still need more help. If we do not get enough volunteers we’ll have to limit the amount of games we put on which will be a shame for the children. If you can possibly give up an hour it would help so much. Please email friendsofroding@gmail.com if you think you can help.

School Lottery

As some of you already know, we are a member of Your School Lottery. If you would like to support this you can sign up here: https://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/lottery/school/rodings-primary-school. This is an easy way to support the school and you might be a winner!

Easy fundraising

With Christmas shopping around the corner please consider using Easy Fundraising (www.easyfundraising.org.uk) whist making purchases.

Download the app or sign up on your browser. When signing up please select “Friends of Rodings Primary School” (there are a couple of other Rodings schools!). Once you are signed up you can access websites through the app, this doesn’t make any difference to the cost of your shopping but a percentage of anything you spend will go directly to the school.

If you would like anymore information about Friends of Rodings or are interested in joining the charity or the helpers list please email friendsofrodings@gmail.com.

Thank you from the Friends!
