A quiet news week, this week, so just a couple of reminders from me.

Breck Foundation - Online Safety

Thank you for the positive feedback following the parents' presentation on Monday. It was a very sobering session but very important. As I have said in previous communications, stranger danger has moved online, and we have to be ready for the unexpected. An attitude of 'it could happen to us' needs to be adopted.

The recorded version of the presentation will be live for the next couple of days, if you were unable to attend the meeting. Follow the link to access the video.

Lost Property

We have accumulated a lot of lost property already. Sadly, the majority has not been named, so we have not been able to return it to its rightful owner. Please could you spend some time over the weekend making sure that the children's uniform is named so that our lost property pile doesn't get any bigger. Thank you!

Friends of Rodings

I would like to draw your attention to the information below from the Friends of Rodings. They have a lot of events coming up soon and they really need your support in whichever way you can.

They raise a significant amount of money to provide the added extras for school and we couldn't do it without them. Their hard work and commitment, and your support, will become even more important as school budgets get tighter. So please help where you can, either by volunteering or attending the events. Every penny counts!

Have a lovely weekend!

This week at Forest School ...

It has been so lovely to welcome Wrens, Swifts and Sparrows back to the forest these last 2 weeks!

We reminded ourselves about keeping safe in the forest and talked about the 3 forest school rules, we explored, played and reacquainted ourselves with our lovely forest, and then the children came up with some brilliant ideas for what they would like to do this term !

We hope everyone had a great first full week back and a special welcome to all the new Goslings families who have started this week – we hope it was a smooth transition for you all.

We just wanted to remind you of a few things coming up:

1st October – 7.00PM – Friends of Rodings Primary School AGM

This is a short meeting briefing our fundraising efforts over the previous year and where the money has been spent, as well as electing any new members. This is then followed by a wine and cheese reception where you will get the opportunity to informally chat to the Friends to find out more (or just drink wine and eat cheese!).

Mrs Paget and Mrs Tunnard have very kindly offered to run a creche for anyone who is unable to get childcare for the evening.  The creche will be running from 7.00-8.30pm and will include a hot chocolate, biscuits, a bedtime story and a film. We are asking for a £2 donation towards this. Children should arrive in their PJ's/onesies etc ready for a relaxed evening.  Please book your place via the Arbor shop.

Please, please try to make an effort to attend this meeting. As a charity we have to meet a quorate of attendance at our AGM. If this is not met we may not be able to continue.

11th October – Bingo night

Eyes down, dabbers at the ready!

This is an event for the whole family and the first of the year. We are busy behind the scenes finalising details of this. We will be sending out more information very soon. Watch this space!!

7th November – Fireworks night

The famous Rodings Firework Night is back!

More information to follow nearer the time.

Thank you to everyone that purchased pre-loved uniform on the ‘meet the teachers’ evening. We hope to make this a more regular fixture.

If you would like anymore information about Friends of Rodings or are interested in joining the charity or the helpers list please email friendsofrodings@gmail.com.

Thank you from the Friends!

We would be really grateful to hear from any businesses who might like to support this year’s Fireworks display by sponsoring the event.

If you’d like any further information please contact friendsofrodings@gmail.com

Thanks so much!
