It's wedding time at Rodings! Miss Wattis is getting married during the summer holiday, which we are all very excited about. Everyone at Rodings is sending their best wishes to the happy couple. We hope you have an amazing day! We look forward to welcoming Mrs Keeble to Rodings in September.

Essex Libraries Summer Reading Challenge

The reading challenge starts in all Essex libraries this Saturday (20th July) and runs throughout the summer until 7th September. It is open to children of all ages.

Families can find out more about it on the Essex Libraries' website:  https://libraries.essex.gov.uk/news/marvellous-makers-the-summer-reading-challenge-2024

Further information is also contained below. I would strongly encourage participation to keep up reading levels over the summer holidays.

Attendance

The Department for Education has issued new regulations and guidance around attendance due to the overall fall in school attendance across the country since the pandemic. The new regulations come into force from August.

I have put a one-page profile together which explains the new regulations for requesting leave of absence and how attendance will be monitored.

The one-page profile will be emailed directly to you, along with a post on Class Dojo.

Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to the children and staff involved in the upper key Stage 2 production of Shrek. It was amazing! So much hard work, rehearsal, blood, sweat (particularly on the final night) and tears went into putting on such a fantastic show. Well done to all involved!

Have a lovely weekend!

Mr Raraty

There will be a drop box for pre-loved uniform by the school office until Tuesday lunchtime!

This week at Forest School...

We had a very special session this week - not only was it our last Forest School of the year, and therefore the Teddy Bears' Picnic with all of KS1, but it was also Mrs Simpkins' last ever Forest School ! So naturally we had a crumpet party, and crowned her Queen of the Forest!!

Thankyou Mrs Simpkins for everything - you are a truly special person and we will miss you so much. Xxx

Super proud of Annabelle this week. She’s been rehearsing since Christmas and this weekend is her big summer show. She has rehearsed and dedicated so much time to her performing this year alongside all her hard work in year 6. This weekend she is performing in 4 shows in Cambridge with 8 acts in each show a mix of musical theatre, tap dancing and ballet. She’s even been a role model and teachers' assistant helping the younger dancers with their performance. We are so proud of you!

Well done Annabelle, we are so proud of you :-)

Max and Mckenzie ran the race for life pretty muddy on Sunday with their auntie and nanny and raised lots of money for a very good cause close to their hearts.

Well done Max & McKenzie, this is a fantastic achievement.  We are very proud of you :-)

We are so proud of Alfie, Harry, Max and Ronnie for completing the Pretty Muddy Kids 5k muddy assault course at Hylands last Sunday.  They collectively raised a staggering £2382.50 for Cancer Research.

Well done to you all, we are so proud of you :-)
