Sky Arts Week

We have had a fabulous week of art activities delivered through Sky Arts. We started with 'Doodle Day' on Monday with so many amazing designs. Lead by Mrs Coates-Reynolds, the school team put up metres of white paper, inside and out, for the children to draw on. We had some super doodles, and we will be showing some of them off at the art exhibition next week.

Our annual art showcase is on Friday 28th June and will start at 2pm and will run until 4pm. You are more than welcome to come and view the brilliant creativity at any point during that time. There is not enough space to show something from every child, but it will give you a perfect idea of what the children have been up to.

Thanks to Mrs Coates-Reynolds for organising a fab week.

Summer Fete

Below is a message from the Friends expressing their thanks and understanding following the decision to close the fete due to the weather conditions last Saturday. I just want to add my thanks to everyone involved. I greatly appreciate everyone's efforts to set up and try and keep the fete running but Mother Nature had other ideas. I'll book better weather for next year.

Have a lovely weekend!

??Summer Fete??

A huge thank you to everyone for your support and understanding following the closure of the fete last weekend. We were well underway and set to have a great day but unfortunately the weather had other ideas and due to the close proximity of lightening and the strong wind gusts it just wasn’t safe to continue. We are of course devastated not to have been able to end the year on a high!

We are seeking advice as to whether we can re-open the raffle for ticket sales and then draw at the end of term, everything has been placed on hold whilst we await confirmation from Uttlesford Council. As soon as we know more we will update everyone but please be assured that all tickets sold so far are safe and ready for the draw when it takes place!

We are also coming up with ideas of how we can try and make up for lost events in other ways so again we will update you as soon as we can. We are also aware some parents have expressed an interest in making a donation to the school, again we’re looking in to options and will come back to you soon! Thank you so much.

Finally, an enormous thank you to all our committee members, our friends helpers, all our stall holders and supporters and all the Rodings staff who put so much effort in to the fete, and rallied around to help when things didn’t go as planned! We are so incredibly grateful. Most of all though, to our incredible headteacher Mr Raraty, who as always steered the ship calmly and confidently, keeping us all safe and sane….you're our hero, thank you!

This week at Forest School...????

The Goslings had a Dino- tastic morning this week! We started with a dino hunt, then found a nest of frozen dino eggs which we helped to hatch! We then made some dino toast on the campfire , which was delicious with a bit of butter and jam !!

Well done, Goslings!

In the last 2 weeks Verity from Doves has taken part in her first ever swimming competitions, club champs for Dunmow Atlantis. She was AMAZING swimming in front of a large audience and set her first swim England times for 100m IM, 50m backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and butterfly. We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see her swim again in the 200m freestyle on Sunday.

Well done Verity, this is a fantastic achievement.  We are very proud of you :-)
