Learning Consultations

Thank you to all those parents that attended Learning Consultations over the last two days. I hope that you found them a useful update on your child's progress.  Combined with the recent Learning Conference report I hope that you feel well-informed as we move into the final term of the year (Yes, isn't it unbelievable!). I have received many positive comments from you following your consultation about the progress your child has made both academically and socially. Thank you for your continued support, in what has continued to be a rather challenging year. And to the amazing staff at Rodings 'thank you' for your continued dedication and commitment.

New Mid-Year Application Procedure

From Friday 1st April, the way that parents apply for a mid-year place at Rodings will change. A mid-year application is classed as any request for a place outside the normal application round for Year R children.

Applications will now be made direct to Rodings Primary School. Next Friday, a new section on our website will open that will contain the forms required to apply for a place. Once application are received, we will be able to make quicker decisions on offering places. If a year group is oversubscribed the application will be passed onto Essex County Council to investigate nearby schools that have places.

It is hoped that this new system will make the application process quicker, reducing the stress for families when transferring schools.

Year R application for September intakes will continue to be dealt with Essex County Council.

School News

On Friday 18th March Year 6 went to Felsted School to take part in a Year 5/6 High-5 Netball Competition. Despite only having a debrief that morning our team showed up in great spirits and ready to play! They played 5 games against the other schools and were really supportive of each other. They also showed great sportsmanship, congratulating the winning teams and respecting the umpires and other players.

Well done Year 6!

Ella has been very busy last weekend making bracelets to sell along side the residents of Great Canfield’s village cake sale. This was to raise money for the Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid Fundraiser. Ella raised a total of £89.70

Well done Ella, we are all so proud of you.
