As part of the 2012 London Olympic legacy , the school receives additional money to promote health and fitness. This is called the Sports and PE Premium Grant. The recently introduced Sugar Tax is also included in this allocated money. Below are the details on how this money has been spent and what impact it has had on the children.
In 2019 100% of our Year 6 children left Rodings being able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m. They were also able to use a range of strokes effectively and able to perform safe self-rescue in different water based situations.

Swimming for our Year 5 and 6 children will resume at Ongar Leisure Centre in Summer 2022. Our own pool will also reopen this summer for years R to 4.
