PSHE

We believe that a thorough, well-rounded personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) curriculum is imperative in ensuring our pupils feel safe and well-equipped for the challenges they may face in the wider world, both now and in the future. Their learning supports them both online and offline, to make informed choices about their relationships, safety, physical and mental health, and to enable them to live positive and fulfilled lives.

At Rodings, our core values of respect, enjoyment, care, confidence and challenge are at the heart everything that we do. We are very proud to be a school where our children love learning and are happy and kind and our PSHE curriculum reflects these values in encouraging children to become respectful, well-rounded citizens.

Our PSHE curriculum is enhanced by a supportive school ethos where everyone is valued, positive relationships are promoted and there is a safe learning environment. We participate in many extra-curricular events which enhance our PSHE curriculum, such as Anti-bullying Week, Children’s Mental Health Week and Internet Safety Day. The children are also involved in a project called ‘Action for Happiness,’ participating in weekly assemblies and activities to promote happiness within their lives. We also recently achieved our Rights Respecting Schools Bronze Award in association with Unicef UK, and are currently in the process working towards our Silver Award.
