  • Mr Colin Raraty

    Headteacher at Rodings Primary School

    Mr Raraty was appointed headteacher in April 2014 having previously taught in Blackmore and Epping. He lives in Harlow where he is busy renovating his house. He likes long walks, drawing and listening to music. His responsibilities include staff development, assessment and child protection.

  • Mr Darryl Crawley

    Deputy Headteacher at Rodings Primary School

    Mr Crawley joined Rodings in September 2016, where he currently teaches Year 5 and is responsible behaviour, assessment, curriculum and our radio station, RPS Radio. He is passionate about books and has an ever growing personal library in his classroom. In his spare time he enjoys walking his puppy Albus, drinking coffee and directing theatre.

  • Mrs Kate Oakley

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School Key Stage 1 Leader

    Mrs Oakley joined the school in 2008 and currently teaches Year 1. She really enjoys listening to music and is responsible for co-ordinating this subject in school. Mrs Oakley enjoys reading, going to the cinema and cycling to keep fit. She also plays the keyboard and trumpet.

  • Mrs Yasmin Hector

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School Key Stage 2 Leader

    Mrs Hector joined Rodings in 2016. She loves to spend time with her family, including her new kitten Samba. Her hobbies include reading, sewing and baking. She particularly enjoys filling her half terms with holidays and visiting new places.

  • Mrs Rachel Deamer

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    Mrs Deamer has been at Rodings since 2002 working with children in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. She is married and has twin daughters who are at primary school. To relax Mrs Deamer loves to swim and go for long walks with her family.

  • Mrs Emily Rigby

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    Mrs Rigby joined Rodings Primary School in November 2012, having taught for 12 years in London. She currently teaches Year 2. Mrs Rigby lives with her family in Saffron Walden. She grew up in south London but is now thoroughly enjoying her new country lifestyle. Mrs Rigby loves to swim, read, cook, go for country walks with her family....and she LOVES to eat cheese!

  • Miss Abigail Thurgood-Buss

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    Miss Thurgood-Buss joined the Rodings in September 2014 and is teaching Reception. In her spare time she enjoys singing in a choir and organising events with her local Young Farmers Club. She enjoys being outdoors and loves going to Forest School.

  • Miss Hannah Raban

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    Miss Raban joined the Rodings team in September 2014 and is teaching in Year 3. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and listening to and playing music. She loves playing the clarinet with the Central Band of the Royal British Legion - two of the perks are wearing the brilliant uniform and getting to perform on centre court at the Wimbledon Finals each year!

  • Mr Owen Wright

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    Mr Wright joined the Rodings Primary school in September 2015 and is currently teaching Year 6. In his spare time he enjoys going to the cinema and playing rugby and football. He loves rugby and enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for sport with the children.

  • Miss Annabel Ducat

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School SENCO

    Miss Ducat is one of our Year R teachers and joined our school in 2015, having completed her PGCE at Cambridge University. Before this, she studied an English Literature degree and continues to enjoy reading. Outside of school, she likes to spend time with her family and friends...and her ginger cat, Pete!

  • Miss Victoria Brookes

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    I’m Miss Brookes and I’m currently teaching Year 3 (Owls). In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to the gym and having days out! I particularly enjoy travelling, exploring the world and meeting new people so my half terms are often filled with exciting trips!


  • Miss Emma Steele

    Teacher at Rodings Primary School

    I'm Miss Steele. I really like the great outdoors, there's nothing better than being out in the fresh air. I love Yorkshire Puddings (not just because I'm from Yorkshire) but because they're simply a fantastic invention. 

    I'm terrible at remembering jokes and would appreciate learning some really good unforgettable ones this year. 

  • Miss Judith Large

    SENCO assistant

    Miss Large has been at Rodings for a very long time! She lives in a village near to Cambridge but doesn't mind driving all that way because Rodings is a great school to work in. At the weekend she enjoys gardening, sewing and helping out with concerts for one of the Cambridge orchestras. She has a pet rabbit called Otto who lives in the house. She plays the clarinet but doesn't do enough practice!

  • Mrs Alison Hutley

    1 to 1 Teacher at Rodings Primary School.

    Mrs Hutley is the One to One tutor at Rodings and used to be a class teacher at our school before she left to have a family.

  • Mrs Fiona Heywood

    Teaching Assistant

    Fiona Heywood has worked at Rodings for many years and both her children attended this school. She taught in Cambridge for several years before having Andrew and Rebecca who are now aged 27 and 29! She loves watching sport and is an avid supporter of Tottenham Hotspurs.

  • Miss Elaine Oates

    Teaching Assistant

    Miss Oates joined Rodings reception class in 1995. She trained as a Nursery Nurse at Chiltern College Reading. She worked at Coram's Children's Centre London for 13 years. Miss Oates has two grown up children. She was born in the Isle of Man and enjoys needlecraft, socialising and weekends away in her camper van.

  • Mrs Debbie Simpkins

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Simpkins has worked at Rodings since 2001, mostly in KS1 and Early Years. She is a Forest Schools leader and looks after the library at school. Mrs Simpkins has three grown up children all of whom attended Rodings. In her spare time she loves reading, cooking and walking and is a member of the local quiz team. 

  • Mrs Sally Curtis

    Higher Level Teaching Assistant and Mid-Day Assistant

    Mrs Sally Curtis is a qualified Higher level Teaching Assistant and has worked at Rodings for twelve years. She has two grown up daughters, they attended Rodings and have since starting college and university. Mrs Curtis' hobbies include walking her dog Daisy and gardening. She also enjoys going to the Emirates to watch Arsenal play. Another much loved hobby is fishing and Mrs Curtis has her name engraved on the Bishop's Stortford Junior Cup.

  • Mrs Kay Cossey

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Cossey started working at Rodings Primary School in 1998. She supports class activities in Key stage 2. Mrs Cossey lives in the Rodings area and her hobbies include gardening and painting.

  • Mrs Maxine Galert

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Galert joined us in 2010. She is married with 3 children who have all been taught at Rodings. In her spare time she enjoys going to the theatre, reading and riding her horse, 'Sally'.

  • Mrs Catherine Goodwin

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Goodwin has worked part-time in the school since 2006 in a variety of different classes, but generally with the older children. She has two children who are now at secondary school. Her hobbies include cooking, reading and walking in the countryside with her dog.

  • Mrs Susan Cook

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Cook joined Rodings Primary School in 2009. She has two grown up daughters who both attended the school. She lives with her husband and family on a farm and loves country walks, gardening, singing and cooking cakes!

  • Mrs Kirstin Woodward

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Woodward has been working at Rodings since 2011. She has worked in different roles within the school and is now based in Early Years. She has 4 children, all of whom attended Rodings. In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking and watching football and is an active member of the Friends committee.

  • Mrs Sharon Holmes

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Holmes has lived and worked in London as a graphic designer before settling back in Essex 10 years ago. She has two children at secondary school , both ex-Rodings pupils. She is passionate about art and especially loves to get involved in all the art and craft activities at school. In her spare time she likes visiting galleries and painting the occasional picture.

  • Mrs Elaine Tunnard

    1:1 Learning Support Assistant

    Mrs Tunnard lives in Fyfield and is married with two sons. In her free time she likes to ice skate and spend time on her boat. She looks after children in Year R at lunchtimes.

  • Mrs Sharon Partridge

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Partridge has worked at Rodings since 2008 as an LSA, having held various support positions in different year groups. She is presently the Read, Write, Inc 1:1 tutor and has recently obtained an NVQ level 3 qualification in Speech and Language Support. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially Mutley, her westie.

  • Mrs Barbara Everett

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Everett joined the Rodings in January 2016. She is married with two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and meeting friends. Her hobbies include reading, travelling, coooking and baking cakes. She previously taught languages and spent some time working as an airline stewardess.

  • Mrs Maria Parker

    Teaching Assistant

    Mrs Parker has been at Rodings since 2014 and enjoys working with the lovely children, especially as a Read, Write Inc tutor. She loves nature and animals and apart from her two sons has three chickens, two guinea pigs and a dog who looks like a teddy bear! In her spare time Mrs Parker likes arts and crafts, boxercise and growing vegetables. Her favouraite food is chocolate!

  • Miss Sarah Wardle

    Teaching Assistant

    Miss Wardle has worked at Rodings since 2015, firstly as a MDA. Since Februaury 2016, she has been a LSA and now a 1:1 turtor in Year R. Miss Wardle has two children Emily who attends CCHS for girls and James who still attends Rodings. When Miss Wardle has spare time she likes listening to music and gardening.

  • Mrs Claire Matthews

    Catering Manager

    Mrs Matthews has worked at Rodings since 2006, previously as a learning support assistant and now as the Catering Manager. She has 2 children, both at HRS. She likes cooking and reading Harry Potter.

  • Mrs Janet Donald

    Mid-Day Assistant

    Mrs Janet Donald has a thriving colony of stick insects. Her other hobbies include playing tennis and reading.

  • Mr Peter Clements

    Site Manager

    Mr Clements joined the school in November 2016, after moving back from Cyprus, where he owned and ran a Scuba Diving Centre. He is an avid F1 fan and also likes to take on the occasional charity cycle ride. Mr Clements had worked in the engineering industry for many years and is looking forward to using his knowledge to maintain the school to a high standard.

  • Mrs Julie Parmenter

    Bursar and Senior Mid-Day Assistant

    Julie Parmenter has been Rodings Primary School's Bursar for just over 20 years. She lives locally and has two grown up sons. Her whole family is very sports orientated. She enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family. Her responsibilities at school include finance, health & safety, premises, educational visits co-ordinator as well as overseeing the school garden.

  • Mrs Sue Barnes

    Office Assistant

    Mrs Barnes joined the office team in May 2011. She lives locally with her husband, two children and her two dogs (Joey the Westie and Sam the Lab). In her spare time she loves to cook and looks after her family horses.

  • Mrs Heather Read

    Administration Assistant

    Mrs Heather Read works in the school reception area and office. She lives locally and has two children. She has three young and lively cats, Jill, Jay and Macavity (Big Mac to his friends). She also has two rabbits, Delia and Marco. With names like that it will come as no surprise that she has a love of cooking. She also loves gardening and reading.
