Action for Happiness

As a school we strive to have a happy school community, filled with happy staff and happy pupils. For the past two year, each week the children have a class assembly which focuses on the theme of 'Happiness'.

This year we have joined the 'Action for Happiness' movement and each child from Year 1 upwards has their own Happiness Journal in which they complete different tasks each week

There are two versions of the Toolkit, one for ages 5-7 and the other for ages 7-11.

You can view a full list of our resources for children and young people here.

Both versions of the Toolkit are based on the Action for Happiness Ten Keys to Happier Living framework and have been piloted in primary schools with appropriate age groups. Qualitative feedback was very positive and quantitative analysis showed significant improvements in wellbeing and other areas. The toolkit for ages 7-11 was also previously awarded the PSHE Association Quality Mark.

Action for Happiness Mission

The mission of Action for Happiness is to promote a happier world, through a culture that prioritises happiness and kindness.

We do this by helping people get together regularly (face-to-face where possible) to learn evidence-based skills for happier living, feel a sense of belonging and commit to personal action to create more happiness, both for themselves and others.

We have no religious, political or commercial affiliations and welcome people of all faiths (or none) and all parts of society. Members of the movement make a simple pledge: to try to create more happiness in the world.
